Deputies Chase Down and Arrest Alleged Thief

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, an early-morning disturbance, an out-of-state haggler, and a parking lot tussle.

At 6:03 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported petty theft in the 500 block of Camino de Estrella. The caller explained that two people had been caught stealing. One subject was detained at the front desk, and the other left. Deputies caught and arrested a 29-year-old man. The alleged thief is currently in custody with a $20,000 bail posted.

Also:

At 7:01 a.m. Friday Sept. 27, a concerned caller reported a disturbance in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. A man wearing a blue jacket was screaming profanities at bystanders.

At 1:18 p.m. Friday Sept. 27, a suspicious person in the 400 block of Avenida Pico was reported to authorities. A man in his 20s was driving around a local parking lot in a silver sedan with Arizona license plates asking people if they wanted to buy a home theater system.

At 7:49 p.m. Friday Sept. 27, someone reported a disturbance in the 600 block of Avenida Victoria. A man in a red Jeep was threatening the caller and her friends and had thrown someone into the bushes.

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
