Drugged Brother Takes a Joyride

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, suspicious teens, a feisty feud, and cash is snatched from a vehicle.

At 8:41 a.m. Monday Oct. 28, an angry caller reported a stolen vehicle in the 200 block of Avenida Fabricante. The caller said his heavily drugged brother went into his home, stole the keys to his car and drove away. At 10:22 a.m. Monday, the informant’s wife called the sheriff’s office, claiming to see her husband’s vehicle passing by - without her husband driving it. Deputies tracked down the vehicle and arrested the 32-year-old brother. He is currently in custody with a $20,000 bail posted.

At 7:19 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 29, someone reported a group of suspicious people near the cross streets of Calle Del Comercio and Avenida San Luis Rey. Some teenage boys were looking inside cars and checking car doors to see if they were unlocked.

At 5:35 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 29, someone called the sheriff’s office to report a disturbance near the cross streets of North El Camino Real and Avenida Miramar. The caller claimed a man and a woman were in a heated argument near an alleyway. The informant also stated the feuding pair may have been on drugs. At 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, another informant called to report the same man and woman fighting. Deputies arrived and diffused the situation.

At 6:23 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 29, a deputies received a report of a burglary in the 200 block of Avenida Alessandro. The informant claimed cash had been stolen from his vehicle.
