Maybe He Should Have Let the Dog Drive

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: A man, accompanied by a white husky, is arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. Plus: suspicious teens and a missing dad and daughter.

At 6:47 p.m. Tuesday, a drunk driver was reported near the cross streets of South El Camino Real and Avenida San Gabriel. When deputies arrived, the driver was stopped in the middle of the street. With him in the car was a white husky. The 36-year-old driver was arrested.

At 1:13 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a burglary in progress in the 1000 block of Calle Negocio. The caller, who was working in a warehouse, reported noises inside and saw a white Toyota Sienna parked out front.

At 10:22 a.m. Tuesday, an informant reported missing family members. The caller said her husband had taken their 10-year-old daughter to the Grand Canyon, but the pair never checked in at the campsite. The caller said she tried to contact authorities in Arizona, but they didn't list the two as missing.

At 1:03 p.m. Tuesday, an informant reported two suspicious teenagers in the 800 block of El Camino Real. The caller had refused to sell alcohol to the 15-year-old boys. The boys then began making threats and stumbled away.

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
