CRIME REPORTS: Dumpster Diver Yells 'Boo,' Horrifying Resident

This is a collection of various reports from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log over the past few days.

At 9:37 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a petty theft in the 900 block of Avenida Pico. According to the report, two women were being detained in the managers office for stealing from Walmart. The women were reportedly being cooperative. 

At 3:52 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 1400 block of El Camino Real. The informant saw two loose pit bulls in an alleyway. Two men were then seen approaching the dogs with sticks and were ready to attack the dogs. The dogs owners' showed up and the two parties were in a heated argument. 

At 12:35 p.m. Thursday, police assisted an outside agency in the 900 block of El Camino Real. Police assisted firefighters with a subject who appeared to have overdosed on heroin in a sliver Kia near Walmart. Firefighters transported the subject to the San Clemente hospital.

At 3:06 p.m. Wednesday, police investigated a person down in the 100 block of Avenida Del Mar. There was a transient woman passed out on the side of The Gallery. Firefighters were dispatched and transported the woman to the San Clemente hospital. 

At 1:48 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a drunk in a car near the 400 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, an intoxicated man was seen siting in a white Chevy van in the Mr. Pete’s Burgers parking lot.

At 2:48 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 900 block of Calle Negocio. According to the report, the informant was concerned about a homeless man who was setting up camp on the back side of a building in the commercial center. 

At 3:59 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. The informant was reportedly startled by a greasy-haired homeless man while taking out the trash. The homeless man was hiding in a dumpster and yelled, 'Boo!' The informant was horrified and disturbed. 

At 3:02 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a trespasser in the 200 block of Avenida Del Mar. According to the report, a transient woman was in the women's restroom of the San Clemente Library and would not leave. The subject had overdosed on alcohol and was transported to the San Clemente hospital by firefighters. She was seen earlier sitting in front of the library shaking and acting nervous. 

At 8:27 p.m. Tuesday, police assisted an outside agency in the 600 block of Avenida Victoria. According to the report, police and city lifeguards were citing a subject for jumping off the San Clemente Pier.

At 1:06 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a battery in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. Police were at the San Clemente hospital to file a report for a woman who said she was assaulted by her husband.
