Feds Arrest 19-Year-Old for Allegedly Transporting Meth

Agents discovered 17.33 pounds of methamphetamine hidden inside the panels of a '99 Accord stopped in San Clemente.

A 19-year-old was arrested Wednesday at the San Clemente Border Patrol checkpoint after agents discovered more than 17 pounds of meth packed in his car.

At about 4 p.m., agents saw what they thought was a suspicious-looking car drive north through the checkpoint. The 1999 Honda Accord was pulled over near Magdalena Road in San Clemente, where a drug-sniffing dog gave the positive alert for contraband, according to a Border Patrol press release.

Agents searched the car and found packages of methamphetamine hidden inside its panels, officials said.
