Federal agents seized about $7 million of methamphetamine hidden aboard a 30-foot boat that recently arrived in Oceanside from Mexico, border officials announced today.

Agents with U.S. Customs and Border Protection made the discovery Friday morning, according to a CBP statement released this morning.

About 540 pounds of the drug were hidden in the hull of the boat and under the floor, officials said.

A 48-year-old man, a California resident and U.S. citizen whose name was withheld, was the lone occupant of the boat. He was taken into custody, officials said.
