Feds Find Plethora of Drugs Hidden Inside a Metal Door, $1.4 Mil Worth

A few hours after finding 54 pounds of cocaine hidden in an SUV trying to get through the San Clemente checkpoint, federal agents discovered twice that amount of coke and other drugs concealed inside a white metal security door a pickup truck was transporting.

U.S. Border Patrol agents encountered the truck at around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, and a drug-sniffing triggered an alert, according to an agency press release.

“Agents searched the vehicle and discovered bundles of narcotics stuffed inside the metal security door,” the new release says. There were a total of 63 bundles; 41 contained methamphetamine, 16 contained cocaine, and 6 contained heroin.  The drugs weighed a total of 116.95 pounds and are valued at $1,385,320.
