Fight Breaks Out in Froyo Store

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a tussle ensues over sketchy IDs during an alcohol purchase, a caller reports an attack on a local restaurant owner, and an angry feud almost results in a broken window.

At 9:59 p.m. Saturday Jan. 18, someone reported a disturbance near the cross streets of Avenida Del Mar and El Camino Real. The caller said multiple men were in an intense physical fight inside a local frozen yogurt store. No arrest was made.

At 11:08 p.m. Saturday Jan. 18, a caller reported a disturbance in the 600 block of Camino de Los Mares. The manager of a CVS said three people were trying to purchase alcohol, however one of the IDs looked suspicious. The group then got into an angry verbal fight over the purchase.

At 11:19 p.m. Saturday Jan. 18, deputies received a call about a disturbance in the 600 block of Camino de Los Mares. The caller said a 22-year-old man had allegedly assaulted the owner of Zona’s Italian Restaurant. Deputies arrived; however, no arrest was made.

At 12:38 p.m. Sunday Jan. 19, a caller told deputies about a disturbance in the 2600 block of Avenida El Presidente. The caller said a man in a verbal fight with two women was attempting to break a car’s window. No arrest was made.

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
