Fire from South Visible in San Clemente

Update: 5:01 p.m. Wednesday, June 26

A 25-acre wild land is burning north of San Mateo Drive, filling the air with thick smoke, which can be seen in part of Orange and San Diego counties. 

Cpl. Michael Iams, media relations chief for Camp Pendleton said that the Camp Pendleton Fire Department is currently on scene with 5 brush engines, 2 Mutual Aid ORCO Brush engines, 1 Water Tenders and 3 Division Chiefs.

Iams added that there are no current threats to personnel or structures. 

The fire reportedly started at about 2:45 p.m. The Orange County Fire Authority tweeted that they have dispatched units to help with the blaze.
