Gunman Robs San Clemente Ralphs

The store on Camino de los Mares is held up late Tuesday, officials say. Suspect may have fled in a Silver VW Beetle.

Sheriff's investigators were on the lookout Wednesday for a gunman who robbed a Ralphs supermarket in San Clemente.

A man in his 40s entered the supermarket in the 600 block of Camino de los Mares around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, displayed a handgun and ordered a clerk to hand over an undisclosed amount of cash, said Orange County sheriff's Lt. Steve Gill.

The gunman fled the store and may have gotten into a silver Volkswagen Beetle, he said.

The robber was described as 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds.

Someone followed me around the CVS next to The same Ralph's on Sunday, and then proceeded to follow me out of the parking lot via a silver car. With quick thinking, I was able to escape. A week earlier a woman took off her pants and screamed at customers. Are we safe in our neighborhood? Hopefully, there are good cameras in the parking lots.

The City must move to clean out the multi-housing slum rental units. Far too many low-life types walking around town. Today, we are falling into being more like Oceanside (a real crap hole) than Huntington or similar beach. Safe... cameras don't keep you safe DJ. You must train and arm yourself. Don't let the lunatics liberals tell you anything else. What will you when attached, wave to the camera while calling 911? (Even in this liberal cesspool, I would rather be judged by 12, than carried by 6.)

We are not safe anywhere on this earth, although we can take precautions, be vigilant, and try to protect ourselves. Only God knows the # of hairs on our head and our numbered days on this earth. We are all sinners in a Fallen World and all this acted out violence taking place is because we are a spiritually dead society focused on selfishness, entitlement, and me me me. Negative behavior can only be corrected or diminished by attending to matters of the heart and trying to follow God's biblical word which was established to protect us from our natural gravitation towards sin. We cannot contain criminals because whether you believe it or not, we are all criminals, whether we murder, steal, cheat, lie, commit adultery, gossip, etc. If we could do a better job of seeing through God's eyes, helping the elderly and the needy, showing more selfless acts of love, the world would be a better place. People take desperate measures in a desperate society. If we could all be more desperate for God, sinful actions would dissipate because the focus would be on Him, not us.

On that note, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas (i.e. a mass for Christ to celebrate that God sent his only Son to save us from our sins and give us life everlasting) and a BLESSED New Year filled with more love and less hatred towards our own families, neighbors, AND strangers. Find a bible-based church (I recommend Pacific Coast Church in San Clemente), listen and learn from biblical sermons, be aware of the sins in your life, be accountable for your sins by joining a bible-based community group, repent, read God's word, and put love into action. You will live a more peaceful life on this earth with less fear and anxiety. Your salvation is your only protection in a world of sinners. God bless you!

I realize you've been trained to think that way. Brainwashing others on superstitions may make people feel better however it hasn't been known to accomplish anything. Did you fall on hard times (drugs, alcohol, prison, depression, etc) and "hit bottom" and become "born again" (as an alternative to suicide)? Or, did your parents "indoctrinate" you?

sorry our sheriff was too busy to protect Ralphs issuing tickets to trucks with ladders on top , and sighting parties with more than 8 people , if these stupid laws were suspended we might be safer while shopping for our food and gifts

Im sorry but due to all you of you arguing about the strict gun laws and other laws people are still getting mugged, robbed , killed, and i live in a multihousing development so I would appreciate it if some hack conservative would watch his tone. Im not a gun toting republican looking to resort in the old ways even though I have considered my safety in this town. I think that as I have been around the teens of this town and the "bad" crowd it upsets me. Look basically people are going to be who they want, be it religous freaks, or bank robbers but we are all still human. Its up to you whether or not you can come to terms with that. Our government has more important things like arguing over the happenings in connecticut rather than a few incidents in our great town of San Clemente. If your tired of the problems here, do something about it, maybe this town will change or maybe you'll just go down as this man did.

Omnipitent God chooses to NOT use his powers to simply forgive mankind, but instead implements a solution which requires that he impregnate a virgin teen girl in order to give birth to himself, so he can have himself slaughtered to save human being from a Hell he created. He then decides to communicate his scheme through conflicting accounts penned decades later by anonymous authors and sudjectivly handed down by flawed translators who can't even agree on the interpretation of "Virgin". Really this is what you base your life on? Hmmm...
