I-5 Accident at Presidio Stalled Friday Traffic

Several cars were involved and ambulances were on the scene, but the wreck appeared to be cleaned up within an hour.

An Accident on the I-5 Freeway heading north through San Clemente stalled traffic at about 3:30 p.m. Friday, but it was cleaned up within an hour.

Traffic was flowing normally again and all lanes were clear by 4:30 p.m.

Ambulances were on the scene at the five-car accident near the Avenida Presidio exit.

CHP Officer Kitzmann said he was unaware of any injuries as of about 4:45 p.m., but the short duration of the cleanup suggests there were no serious casualties involved in the wreck. Calls to the Orange County Fire Authority were not immediately returned.
