Children's book author Michael William Snyder of San Clemente, who has pleaded not guilty to several felony counts related to his alleged lewd acts on two young girls, will next appear in court March 4.
Snyder, 45, was set for a trial Monday, but Judge Gregg Prickett agreed to defense attorney Ken Schreiber's request that the hearing be postponed.
Snyder is back in custody on a $1-million bond after disobeying a court order barring him from contacting the victims and their families.
He now faces five counts of lewd acts with a minor and one count of oral copulation or sexual penetration with a minor age 10 or younger. If convicted of all counts, Snyder can potentially face 30 years to life in prison.
Schreiber declined to comment on the case.
In addition to writing books, Snyder contracted with the California Department of Developmental Services to do in-home visits with disabled children in Orange County.
