Man Arrested for Allegedly Punching a Woman in Face

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, summertime merriment, a woman arrested for a dispute and a man offers strangers a free TV.

At 8:47 p.m. Thursday, a concerned caller told deputies about a disturbance at the cross streets of North Ola Vista and Avenida Santa Barbara. The informant saw a woman being punched in the face by a man. A 38-year-old man was arrested and is currently in custody with a $50,000 bail set.

At 12:52 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance on the cross streets of Camino Vera Cruz and Calle Aquamarina. The informant told deputies that a group of teens in a Grey Kia Forte was at the intersection, launching water balloons at cars with a potato gun.

At 4:10 a.m. Wednesday, an angry caller asked for help in the 0 block of Via Cartama. The informant stated that he and his wife had a verbal dispute earlier that evening, and asked deputies to assist in removing his wife from their home. The 34-year-old woman was arrested and is currently in custody with a $50,000 bail set.

At 5:09 p.m. Wednesday, someone reported a suspicious person near the intersection of East Avenida Pico and Calle De Los Molinos. A man was in a red Jeep Cherokee offering strangers a free TV and surround sound system. Before deputies could arrive, the man was reportedly gone.
