Man Arrested for Breaking into Car

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, trespassing, people smoking illegal drugs and an angry ex-wife.

At 12:09 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported a vehicular break-in near the cross streets of Camino de Estrella and the I-5 Freeway. The caller explained a suspicious man broke into his son's car Saturday morning. The 54-year-old man was arrested and is currently in custody with a $15,000 bail set.

Also:

At 10:03 a.m. Wednesday, an informant called deputies to report a man trespassing near the cross streets of Calle Vallarta and Avenida Vaquero. A homeless man was sleeping on local property.

At 5:58 p.m. Wednesday, someone called the sheriff’s department to report a suspicious person in the 200 block of La Paloma. A group of people was smoking marijuana in a black and gray SUV.

At 11:18 p.m. Wednesday, an angry caller reported a grand theft in the 100 block of Marquita. A man claimed his ex-wife came into his home and stole two wedding rings before driving away in a black GMC Envoy. No arrest was made.

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
