CRIME REPORTS: Ball Bat Beating, Pot-Smoking Hoser

CRIME REPORTS: Various reports pulled from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log over the past few days.

At 11:23 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 200 block of Avenida Monterey. According to the report, the informant hit his girlfriend in the head and dispatchers could hear her yelling in the background. Police detained both subjects and reported they had both been using cocaine and drinking alcohol.

At 11:18 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a suspicious person near the Alameda Lane and Avenida Del Mar intersection. The informant reported seeing a strange man pulling a suit case while walking in the middle of Del Mar Street. 

At 7:40 p.m. Thursday, police arrested a 45-year-old-man for a narcotic violation near the Calle Puente and La Paloma intersection. He was taken into custody and bail was set for $50,000.

At 5:48 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 100 block of Calle Amistad. According to the report, several men where in a physical fight and one got beat with a baseball bat. The man was severely bleeding and was taken to Mission Hospital. Police detained one subject. 

At 10:34 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance near the South El Camino Real and Avenida San Gabriel intersection. A woman wearing cut off jean shorts with leggings was seen in a heated verbal argument with another man. The woman was driving a black BMW and had a pit bull with her. The man took off on foot with the dog, and the woman headed east in her vehicle.

At 6:31 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a suspicious person in a vehicle near the 1200 block of Via Catalina. According to the report, four cars were parked at the and of a cul-de-sac with roughly eight minors smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol. 

At 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 3900 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, several minors were throwing rocks at the informant near the south side Carl’s Jr. The minors took off and hid in the State Park parking lot. 

At 3:04 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a suspicious circumstance in the 1100 block of Avenida Talega. The informant was offended and felt it was inappropriate that a man was passing out bibles to children near Bernice Ayer Middle School.

At 8:44 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a drunk driver in the 100 block of Corona Lane. The informant reported that her mother was intoxicated and drove off with her 4-year-old-brother. She was concerned her mother was going to crash and harm the child. 

At 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 200 block of Avenida Lobeiro. The informant reportedly got into an argument with his neighbor who had been smoking marijuana. The neighbor proceeded to yell at the informant sprayed him and his wife with a garden hose.
