Teen Slumped over Steering Wheel Gets Arrested

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a worried boyfriend tries to help his girlfriend, an angry ex-husband tries to break in, and a group of suspicious men is searched by deputies.

At 7:49 a.m. Sunday Dec. 15, a caller asked deputies to investigate a person down in the 700 block of El Camino Real. The caller said a man in a black Mazda was slumped over the wheel with the car running in the middle of a lane. Deputies arrived to discover the 18-year-old had been in a minor traffic accident. The teen was arrested and has since been released from jail.

At 2:01 a.m. Sunday Dec. 15, deputies received a call asking for a welfare check in the 1300 block of El Camino Real. The caller said his girlfriend’s father had changed the locks on their house and pointed a gun at his daughter. The caller hung up before deputies could get any details.

At 9:29 p.m. Sunday Dec. 15, a caller reported a burglary in progress in the 100 block of El Portal. The caller’s ex-husband had broken a window in an attempt to break in. Deputies arrived to settle the dispute.

At 2:05 a.m. Monday Dec. 16, a caller told deputies about a group of suspicious people in the 700 block of Avenida Pico. Deputies arrived and detained four men behind a local gym. No arrest was made.
