Ole’s Bouncer, Marines Grab Burglary Suspect

Police dispatch reports say the man was trying to break into cars early Tuesday morning.

Sheriff’s deputies in San Clemente on Tuesday morning arrested a man accused of trying to burglarize vehicles and businesses.

At 1:25 a.m., a woman who is an employee of  on Camino Real called police to say that two men were trying to break the windows of local businesses and that one had broken the antenna off her car. The police report also states that the men were trying to burglarize vehicles.

The suspect who was arrested was Kyle Andrew Johnson, 22, who lists his occupation as a bartender in booking records.

A number of U.S. Marines in the vicinity were holding the suspects down, according to the initial reports, and an Ole’s bouncer eventually detained the suspects near the  one street up from the bar.

It is unclear what happened to the second man that callers reported, but the arrest records show only that Johnson was arrested.

He is being held on $20,000 bond, according to the arrest record.
