Two men hold up an El Camino Real station at gunpoint Monday.

Two men robbed a San Clemente gas station at gunpoint early Monday morning, escaping to the freeway with an undisclosed sum of cash, according to police reports.

Shortly before 2 a.m., two men approached the station at the 2300 block of El Camino Real, said Orange County Sheriff's Lt. Roland Chacon.

One, wearing a dark hoodie, stayed outside as the other, wearing a mask, entered and brandished a black handgun, demaning money from the clerk.
