San Clemente Deputies Honored for Anti-DUI Efforts

Three patrolmen are lauded for their high numbers of DUI arrests.

Collectively, deputies Mike Carrillo, Jeremiah Prescott, and Jeff Hewitt arrested 87 people on suspicion of drunk driving in 2012.

That's why Mothers Against Drunk Driving honored them with awards Tuesday, as did the San Clemente City Council.

Carrillo logged 25 arrests, Prescott logged 28 and Hewitt was on top for the whole of San Clemente Police Services with 34 DUI arrests.
