Suspicious Man Loads Bales of Marijuana into Car

At 1:02 a.m. Friday, a concerned caller reported suspicious activity in the 600 block of Avenida Pico. The informant told deputies that a 55-year-old man was loading bales of marijuana into the back of a white Nissan that was occupied by two other males. The Nissan left before deputies arrived.

At 1:23 p.m. Friday, someone called the sheriff’s department to report a traffic accident in the 500 block of Avenida Pico. The caller told deputies that an elderly woman had rammed her brown Lincoln into a light pole in a parking lot nearby. Medics arrived on the scene when the woman began complaining about chest pains she felt as a result of the crash.
At 3:55 p.m. Friday, a caller phoned deputies to report a disturbance in the 200 block of Avenida Cabrillo. The informant saw a man in a black pick-up truck get out of his vehicle and punch a window of another car. The other car, which was a blue Corolla, pulled off to the side of the road near Beach Fire Grill. Shortly after, the man parked close to the car he hit and went inside the location.
At 11:19 p.m. Friday, an informant reported two suspicious men in the 300 block of Calle Escuela. The caller stated that they saw two men in dark clothing checking car door handles. When spotted, both men fled in different directions.
