Three Arrests in One Week for Former NFL Player Titus Young

Young was arrested in San Clemente, suspected of breaking into a home and fleeing from deputies.

Former NFL receiver Titus Young remained in jail Sunday for suspicion of breaking into a San Clemente home, his third arrest in a week.

This time, the 23-year-old ex-St. Louis Ram was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Friday in the 3700 block of Calle Casino, where Young fled on foot when deputies arrived.

He was suspected of breaking into a home, and was arrested after a short foot pursuit and brief fight with officers, said Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Balicki. He was jailed Sunday in lieu of $75,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court Monday.

The troubled athlete was arrested twice last Sunday in Moreno Valley, first at 12:01 a.m. after an illegal left turn led to him being booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of a substance. He was arrested hours later at 2:22 p.m. that same day and booked for burglary after he was allegedly seen jumping the fence of an impound lot to look for his vehicle.

Young played college football at Boise State, where he had 204 receptions for 3,063 yards and 25 touchdowns in his collegiate career. The wide receiver was selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft and was later claimed by the St. Louis Rams.
