Squatter at Vacant House Gets a New Place to Rest Head -- Jail

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a screen door thief, a man abuses objects with his cane, and a semi blocks all lanes of traffic.

At 9:34 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 26, a caller reported a trespasser in the 200 block of Avenida Monterey. The caller was the owner of a vacant house and found a squatter living in the empty home. Deputies arrived and arrested a 31-year-old woman, who is currently in custody with a $35,000 bail amount posted.

At 9:55 p.m. Monday Nov. 25, a confused caller phoned deputies to report a burglary in the 400 block of Avanida Vaquero. The caller claimed a screen door was pried off and stolen from his home.

At 10:19 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 26, someone reported a disturbance near the cross streets of East Avenida Magdalena and El Camino Real. The caller saw a man striking his cane on objects near a local laundromat.

At 3:15 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 26, deputies received a report of a traffic hazard in the 300 block of Avanida Pico. The caller explained a semi truck was blocking all lanes of traffic. A large tow-truck arrived on scene to haul away the massive traffic block.
