Probationer Arrested after Allegedly Vandalizing Park

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, heck no the RV won't go, reckless drivers careen down construction zone, and what activities could involve crowbars and hammers in an alleyway?

At 9:29 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 12, someone called the sheriff’s office to report vandalism in progress in the 100 block of Avenida San Luis Rey. The caller claimed two people who wearing dark clothing were vandalizing a local park. Deputies arrived to detain and search the alleged vandals. Sheriffs discovered one of the troublemakers was on probation. The 27-year-old man was arrested and is currently in custody with a $20,000 bail posted.

At 7:29 p.m. Monday Nov. 11, someone reported a suspicious person in the 3000 block of El Camino Real. A woman, who was living inside an RV parked in a local parking lot, was refusing to leave the premises.

At 11:50 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 12, deputies received a report of reckless driving near the cross streets of Camino de Los Mares and Avenida Vaquero. The caller claimed people were speeding in the construction zone near Camino De Los Mares.

At 12:15 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 12, a worried caller reported a group of suspicious teens in the 600 block of Calle Campana. The informant claimed witnessing three teens carrying crowbars and hammers down an alleyway. The caller believed the teens might have been gang members.

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
