Domestic Fight Uses a Car as a Weapon

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a Dodge vehicle lives up to its name, a suspicious door-to-door salesman, and a couple of inebriated young teens.

At 3:51 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 13, someone called the sheriff’s office to report a traffic accident in the 700 block of El Camino Real. The caller claimed a vehicle had struck a pedestrian during a heated domestic fight. No arrest was made.

At 5:18 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 13, a frustrated caller reported a hit-and-run near the cross streets of North El Camino Real and Avenida Pico. The caller claimed he had been rear-ended by a subject in a blue Dodge. After the vehicles hit, the Dodge raced away southbound on El Camino Real and began weaving in and out of traffic.

At 7:14 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 13, someone reported a suspicious person in the 0 block of Calle Verdadero. The caller claimed a suspicious man was going door-to-door claiming to be a milkman. The informant called back at 7:44 p.m. to report that the man had stopped by the residence again, this time claiming to be selling groceries.

At 10:46 a.m. Thursday Nov. 14, an informant told deputies about a suspicious group of people in the 2300 block of El Camino Real. The caller claimed two young teens were drunk and loitering in front of the local liquor store.

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
