CRIME REPORTS: Shopping and Boozing, Transient Wears Shoebox Hat

Here are various reports pulled from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log over the past few days.

At 10:37 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 300 block of Pas De Cristobal. The informant was upset about a group of men who were revving a truck's engine and threw a beer can near T-Street. 

At 9:07 p.m. Thursday, police arrested a 21-year-old man in the 100 block of Avenida Carmelo. According the report, the man was pounding on the informants door and was yelling, “I’m going to get you.” The man was taken into custody and bail was set for $20,000.

At 8:29 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a drunk driver in the 1800 block of El Camino Real. The informant reported they were almost hit by Gray Ford Escort in front of Shadetree Automotive.

At 8:17 p.m. Thursday, police were called in to check a pedestrian in the 1800 block of El Camino Real. A transient man was wearing a shoe box on his head.

At 6:40 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 1100 block of Calle Del Cerro. According to the report, a man's wife was throwing his personal belongings out of their residence in the Whispering Winds apartment complex.

At 5:47 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 600 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, a homeless man in his early 30s walked into a store’s restroom with a bottle of alcohol. The store employees knocked on the door and the man immediately left leaving behind his drugs.

At 2:51 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported an assault in the 2300 block of Calle Lobina. The informant reportedly asked his girlfriend to move out and she hit him. The girlfriend was gone by the time police had arrived. 

At 7:36 p.m. Tuesday, a citizen assist was made in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. According to the report, a patient at San Clemente Hospital got up and left with an I.V still in. The patient eventually returned to the hospital.

At 7:21 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a drunk in public in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. A woman was reportedly drinking alcohol while she was shopping at the Ralph's grocery store. The informant said the woman is being “accident prone.” She was eventually picked up by her husband.

At 6:29 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 200 block of Escalones. There was a heated argument between two neighbors. The informant was extremely upset because her neighbor spit in her face.
