Facebook Message About a Knifing Leads to Arrest

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a drunken driver is reported consuming cheap winnside his car, a group of teens disturb a resident, and a customer and an employee duke it out.

At 12:17 a.m. Friday Jan. 10, a worried caller asked deputies for a welfare check in the 200 block of Avenida Cabrillo. The caller said a friend of hers had messaged her on Facebook, claiming her boyfriend cut her with a knife and she could not leave. Deputies arrived to the friend’s house and arrested her 30-year-old boyfriend. He is currently in custody with no bail amount posted.

At 4:52 p.m. Friday Jan. 10, a caller told deputies about a disturbance near the cross streets of Calle Amanecer and Avenida Pico. A group of four teens was digging dirt in an open field and riding dirt bikes.

At 6:08 p.m. Friday Jan. 10, deputies received a call about a drunken driver near the cross streets of East Avenida Pico and Avenida La Pata. A drunk man inside a red Mustang had purchased boxed wine from a local store and was sitting inside his car drinking it.

At 7:47 p.m. Friday Jan. 10, someone called the sheriff’s office to report a disturbance in the 400 block of Avenida Pico. A customer and an employee were in a heated verbal argument.
