A wrecked semi-truck that was leaking fuel and apparently caused a two-car crash led to a SigAlert at the El Camino off-ramp on the south 5 Freeway through San Clemente early Monday.
The SigAlert was still in effect as of 7:15 a.m., according to incident reports from California Highway Patrol dispatchers.
The big rig crashed at 6:23 a.m., according to the report, and was on the right side of the road. After the crash, a gray Honda crashed into a black Mitsubishi, according to dispatch reports.
All of the vehicles were off to the side as of 6:39 a.m., the dispatch reports state. The officers requested crews to bring absorbent material to soak up the leaked fuel.
There were no injuries mentioned in the reports.
