City Brings In Falcons To Clean Up Poche Beach

San Clemente is once again bringing in local falcons to control seagulls at Poche beach.

San Clemente is using Falcons to control seagulls that are contaminating Poche Beach.

The city singed a contract with Adam’s Falconry Services of San Juan Capistrano. Services started Aug. 9 and will continue through the end of September.

In July a warning was posted at Poche Beach after tests indicated bacteria levels periodically exceeded regulatory standards. A study in 2011 indicated that seagulls were the primary contributors to the bacteria problem.
