City Council Ballot Order, Debates Set

The California Secretary of State has determined the ballot order for San Clemente City Council candidates, and the date is set for the Chamber of Commerce debates among candidates.

The race for two seats on the San Clemente City Council is kicking into gear; all six candidates are qualified for the ballot and the San Clemente Chamber of Commerce has scheduled debates for next month.

The following is how the six candidates' names and occupations will appear on the ballot in November:

The San Clemente Chamber of Commerce is hosting a candidates' forum 6 p.m. Sept. 27 at St. Andrew’s by-the-Sea UMC, 2001 Calle Frontera.

"This event is key in helping our businesses and the community to stay up-to-date on critical matters facing our city," chamber officials stated in a release.

Each candidate will give an opening statement, followed by a series of pre-composed questions and questions from the audience, according to the release.

The candidates will be given a brief time to address the questions, and the forum will conclude with closing statements. 

The forum is open to the public and free of charge. Coffee and snacks will be provided.
