City to Plan Marine Parade, Replace City Attorney

The San Clemente City Council meets Tuesday for its regular meeting.

The San Clemente City Council is set to promote assistant City Attorney Jeff Goldfarb to the city attorney spot from which Jeff Oderman is retiring.

Oderman was appointed city attorney in 1981. Goldfarb and Oderman are both from Rutan & Tucker, the firm that represents the city on legal matters.

Also at the meeting, the city council is set to approve a parade date, route and space for a barbecue to celebrate the return of the 2nd Batallion, 4th Marines, San Clemente's adopted unit.

The parade, if approved, will be Flag Day, June 14. The Marines will march down Del Mar to , where there would be a memorial and awards ceremony. The beach by the would be cordoned off for a welcome-home barbecue subsequent to the parade.
