Lifeguard divisions up and down the Orange County coast are gearing up for the summer rush.

San Clemente's Marine Safety Division held its tryouts Sunday morning, sending about 80 young swimmers rushing into the chilly waves to pass the swimming and running tests.

Laguna Beach held their tryouts last month, while Newport Beach's is set for March 18 and Seal Beach's is set for April 14.
