Marine Commander to Discuss Afghan Deployment

Marine Support Group will host the commander of the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines at the San Clemente Community Center to talk to the public about the unit's experiences in Afghanistan.

The Commander of 1st Battallion, 5th Marines will give a presentation on that unit's recent deployment to Sangin, Afghanistan, knows as the Most Dangerous Place on Earth.

This event will be hosted by the San Clemente Marine Corps Support Group's Socks for Heroes project from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11.

There is no charge for this event; it's a thank you to the community of San Clemente for all of its support for the Marines during their recent deployments.
