Mayor at Prayer Breakfast: Our City Is Lucky

At yearly Mayor's Prayer Breakfast, Mayor Lori Donchak says that despite hard times, San Clemente has a lot of economic activity going on.

Mayor Lori Donchak at the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast Tuesday said San Clemente  was lucky to have so much economic development under way in these rough times.

“I challenge you to find another town in the U.S. that has the kind of good news that we do,” she said.

Donchak mentioned projects such as the new accessible playground, , the new , the planned expansion of the San Clemente branch library and early plans for a Ralphs complex and plans for a new Target.

The keynote speaker was Mike Chamberlin, a longtime sportscaster and musician who grew up in San Clemente.

Chamberlin is the brother-in-law of Orange County Register reporter Fred Swegles, who has a long history as a journalist and musician in San Clemente.
