PHOTOS: Mayor's Prayer Breakfast Features Clergy, Military

Nearly 300 turned out for the 29th annual Kiwanis event.

Nearly 300 local clergy members, city officials, sheriff's deputies, firefighters, marines and volunteers turned out for a morning of prayer.

San Clemente Kiwanis hosted the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast Tuesday to allow city leaders to join together to pray for youth, uniformed officers, military personnel and civilian officials.

Among those speaking were Mayor Bob Baker, keynote speaker Albert Tufono, San Clemente Kiwanis President Duane Stiff, South Coast Church Senior Pastor Chris Smith, San Clemente Police Services Chief Lt. John Coppock, Pacific Coast Church Senior Pastor Mark Ambrose, Heritage Christian Fellowship Senior Pastor Roger Gales and Worship Life Calvary Chapel Senior Pastor Holland Davis, among others.

Tufono, professionally, is the director of the Honolulu Parks and Recreation Department, but he's also heavily involved in missionary work in his home state of Hawaii and other South Sea islands.

The San Clemente High School Madrigal Choir also performed.

Kiwanis held the event at the San Clemente Community Center.
