Pier Bowl Siren Only a Test

The city announced today that San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station will be conducting an emergency siren test at the Pier Wednesday.

The San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station technicians will be doing work on the emergency siren at the San Clemente Pier area today, requiring an emergency test.

The following is from an email from city staffer Laura Ferguson:

SONGS will be doing some maintenance on the siren at the pier bowl today, Wednesday, April 18.  When maintenance is performed on a siren, SONGS is required to do an audible test to bring it back into service.  This maintenance has been postponed several times due to weather, which is why this might sound familiar.
