San Clemente Sends Condolences to Newtown

Mayor Bob Baker announced the gesture at the Dec. 18 San Clemente City Council Meeting.

In the wake of this months slaughter of 28 schoolchildren, teachers and administrators at Sandyhook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., San Clemente officially "joined the rest of the nation, consumed with grief."

Mayor Bob Baker Dec. 18 read into the council record a letter from the city to the superintendent of schools and mayor of Newtown.

"We can only hope the families find strength and comfort in the beautiful memories of their loved ones," Baker read.
