Two Sailors Killed in Pendleton Training Exercise
Two sailors died yesterday in truck rollover on-base.
Two sailors were killed Monday and a third was injured in a training accident at Camp Pendleton when their 7-ton medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) water truck rolled over.

According to initial reports, the accident happened while conducting Pacific Horizon training exercises, a joint venture involving Navy and Marine Corps; the Marines are still investigating the incident.
The sailors killed were from the 1st Battalion.

"The names of the Sailors will not be released, pending notification of the next of kin," said Cmdr. Greg Hicks from the 3rd Fleet Battalion.
The injured sailor is at a local hospital, and his condition is stable, Hicks said.
A spokesman said the Marines “do not have any additional information at the time."
