Watch Katy Perry 'Part of Me' Video Featuring Camp Pendleton

California Gurl Katy Perry shows off her fighting and shooting skills with actual Marines in her new music video "Part of Me," which features Camp Pendleton.

Perry joins the Marine Corps in what amounts to one big, long, awesome recruiting ad, the Military Times says. Its not quite a Marine in dress blues slaying wizards on a chess board, but it's a close second.

Perry plays the role of a woman who joins the Marines out of heat break. The Marine Corp's Facebook page had a little fun announcing the video's premier:

The Ben More-directed video was shot in February at Camp Pendleton. “Part of Me” debuted on Wednesday during an MTV Special, MTV First: Katy Perry.

"It's an affirmation of strength, so I wanted to go the strongest route I ever could," Perry said during the show. "Literally, I was like, 'I'm gonna join the service. I'm gonna join the Marines.' We used only Marines. ... For three days, I was a wannabe Marine, which was so difficult."
