The new operator of the restaurant at the San Clemente Municipal Golf Course is set to build a wedding venue on the property, pending approval of the city council Tuesday.
Z-Golf, which took over from the Irons in the Fire operator after he went out of business, took the contract for the golf course restaurant on the condition they could build a venue.
The open-air venue will occupy less than 10 percent of the 0.9 acre chip and putt practice area. It will consist of a raised stone dais, arbor and stone path. The chip and putt green will be repositioned to preserve practice area, according to staff reports.
Z-Golf made modifications to their plan to satisfy objections by the city's Golf Course Committee, according to staff reports.
The San Clemente City Council will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday at the San Clemente Civic Center, 100 Ave. Presidio.
