670 Turn the Tassel at SCHS Graduation

Hundreds of San Clemente High School students of the class of 2013 are off to start their adult lives after the ceremony Tuesday afternoon.

Almost 700 members of the San Clemente High School class of 2013 took to the field at Thalassa Stadium Tuesday to celebrate their commencement.

"The class of 2013 wants to be known as champions on the field, in the classroom and on the stage," said Principal George Duarte, citing various accomplishments of the students in sports, academics and the arts.

Scholar of Scholars Jennifer Kilduff urged the class to make the world a better place through achievements after they left San Clemente High School.

"Each of us is a unique individual who can contribute something to the world," she said.

Senior Class Presiden Julia Spencer led the class in the Pledge of Allegiance, and Sarah Wyman gave the farewell address.

The San Clemente High School band and Madrigal Choir also performed. Teacher Duncan Wilson kicked off the whole procession with his annual march down the field while playing the bagpipes.
