Huge Freshman SCHS Class Prepares for First Day

Freshman orientation at San Clemente High prepares the youngest Tritons for their first day of school, the Wednesday after Labor Day.

What could be the largest class ever at received schedules and toured the campus Wednesday.

The more than 890 students also found their classrooms and lockers and participated in a pep-rally event.

Their parents went to Parent Boot Camp in another building as the up-and-coming first-year students took over the gym.

Principal told the class to get involved and make good choices.

"Get connected," he said. "Join a club, join a team. You're going to have choices.... The future is purchased by the present."
