SCHS Welcomes Class of 2016

New freshman toured the San Clemente High School campus, received their schedules and got pumped up for the upcoming school year.

Hundreds of incoming freshmen packed the gym Wednesday afternoon, getting ready to tour the campus and receive their schedules.

The class of 2016 was treated to a performance by the San Clemente High School marching band, hilarious relay races organized by the Associated Student Body and a pep talk from Principal George Duarte.

"Every one of you has a 4.0," Duarte told his new charges. "Right now, your record is spotless. I challenge this class to be real leaders. Real leaders are ordinary people with extraordinary determination ― real leaders lead by kindness."

Across campus was the "parents' boot camp" where school officials let moms and dads know about all the important dates and requirements for high school. Parents also received a brief primer on the college application process.
