The golf tournament begins at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 13 at the San Clemente Municipal Golf Course, with a "shotgun start." Refreshments are planned at several of the 18
holes as well as contests such as "closest shot to the pin," "beat the pro," and "longest drive." A dinner and and awards ceremony will follow. A "Silent Auction" will be held, which includes certificates for foursome play at the Municipal golf course; dinners and wine at numerous local
restaurants; fishing, whale watching, free golf and tennis lessons; and tickets for movies, theatre, plus Angels and Padre baseball games. The "Live Auction” features week-long stays at Mammoth and Maui condominiums, a Sharyn Evert painting, and a full-page advertisement in
the San Clemente Times.

Major Tournament sponsors include the San Clemente Times, American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), Workman/Molina LLC, and Rainbow Sandles. Perhaps the largest lure to the tournament is that Three County Insurance, through the auspices of Bob Stith, will award $5,000 to anyone making the 15th hole in one stroke during the tournament. Foursomes cost $500 and individuals $150, which is tax deductible.
