Friday Wave Check

The latest swell has really diminished.

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your San Clemente Patch surf report.  Well, the latest swell diminished pretty fast.  Yep, overall it's back to the small stuff just about everywhere.

The conditions are nice and clean with a combination of some minor leftover west northwest energy and some minimal lingering southwest windswell.

That recipe is offering some sorta weak sectiony lines, with a few fun ones, if you're riding a fish or a log.  Most San Clemente spots are running about knee to waist high, with those top combo breaks pulling stomach high waves with an occasional plus set.

At 10:28 a.m the tide climbs up to a 6 foot high which will have some spots shut off mid to late morning.  The tide then drains out to a negative 0.7 low at 5:40 p.m.  If you're going to grab a session, throw on the 4/3 full and possibly the booties, with the water temp averaging between 57 and 59 degrees.  See ya in the water!

FYI...Health officials suggest avoiding ocean water within 72 hours of significant rainfall due to the elevated bacteria levels (especially near harbors, river mouths and drain pipes).
