Motocross Show Will Memorialize Jeff ‘Ox’ Kargola Friday

The remembrance happens down in Winchester, Calif. during the Balloon and Wine Festival.

A freestyle motocross performance was scheduled for the  in honor of a fallen daredevil.

Jeff “Ox” Kargola, 27, of San Clemente, died on March 6 during a performance in Baja, Mexico.

The show will go on twice, at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Friday at Lake Skinner, 701 Warren Rd. in Winchester. The cost is included in Sunday’s admission.

Kargola performed at the Balloon and Wine Fest in the past, said Melody Brunsting, spokesperson for the festival.

“At first glance, you might wonder what a Freestyle Motocross demo is doing at the Temecula Balloon and Wine Festival,” she said in an emailed announcement. “To explain in simple terms, Temecula… is home to some of the top and most innovative daredevil riders in the world.”

Temecula residents Brian Deegan and Larry Linkogle founded Metal Mulisha in 1999.

Since, the group won medals, broke world records and became a household name among freestyle motocross fans.

Metal Mulisha members Jimmy Fitzpatrick, Todd Potter, Wes Agee, Jeff Griffin, Destin Cantrell and Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg are slated to hit the stage during the performance, which will be filmed for an upcoming video.
