OC Fighters Pummel Opponents in Saturday Rumble

San Clemente and Lake Forest fighters best their opponents in a series of bouts in Pacific Beach.

Three mixed martial arts fighters from San Clemente and one from Lake Forest bested their opponents in the "Rumble on the Rooftop" event in Pacific Beach Saturday.

Ivan Lopez of Finish Strong MMA in San Clemente forced Oscar Ortega to tap out in the second round in their fight. Lopez now has a 3-0 amateur record, while Ortega is 3-3. The Lopez-Ortega fight was one of the main events in the series of 11 fights. Each contest was set for three two-minute rounds.

Edgar Duron of USSD Martial Arts in San Clemente also beat his opponent, Andrew Moralez.

Aaron McCrea of SubFighter in Lake Forest won his fight against Jeffery Carroll in the first round of the event, leaving McCrea with a 2-0 record.

Jose Jimenez had a spectacular finish of the night (rear naked choke in the second round) in his rematch with Anthony Lopez, which earned him a title shot, according to officials from USSD.

The event was organized by World Combat Series and overseen by the California Amateur Mixed Martial Arts Organization. The Pacific Beach World Gym hosted the event.
