Laguna Hills Cross-Country Invitational

Patch couldn't get out to Laguna Hills High on Saturday for the area's first cross-country meet of the season, but you can find the results on this ESPN/Rise link.

San Clemente, competing in Division 1, won the freshman and sophomore girls titles, paced by freshman’s Kelsey Carroll’s fifth-place finish and sophomore Melissa Eisele’s first-place finish (time not available). The junior girls finished fifth and the sophomore boys finished sixth.

(Aside: I once asked a librarian friend of mine if people expected her to have all the answers. She said no, but added that she knew where to find them.)

What's next? The 31st annual Cross-Country Classic, co-hosted by Woodbridge, Estancia and Costa Mesa highs, begins Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m. at Estancia High in Costa Mesa.

Tritons to Jump Into Deep Pool

San Clemente will be among a contingent of six boys water polo teams who will compete in the annual S&R Sport Southern California Water Polo Tournament, Oct. 8-9 at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine.
