SURF REPORT: If You've Been Praying for Surf, It's Paying Off

More energy this Thursday.

Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your San Clemente Patch surf report.

Well, if you've been praying for surf, it's paying off!  Yep, we're seeing a good amount of action out there. So, go get it while it lasts.

It's mostly clean early on, with some spots seeing some texture on the water.  Checking the surf, we're seeing a really nice mix of swells.  There's some new modest south swell and some decent holding west northwest windswell.

That recipe is offering some fast and fairly broken-up lines, with some good, bowly corners. Most spots in San Clemente are seeing stomach- to shoulder-high plus waves, with the top combo breaks pulling head-high to overhead sets.

Taking a look at the tides: At 5:39 early this morning it drained out to a negative 1.4 low which will have many spots really lacking water early on. The tide then climbs back up to a 3.9 high at 12:14 this afternoon and then drops once again to a 2.1 low at 4:52 this afternoon.

If you're going to get out there, throw on a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 59 and 60 degrees. Have fun out there!

FYI: County Health Officials urge surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean after a rain for at least 72 hours due to the possibility of increased bacteria levels, especially near river mouths, storm drains and harbor entrances.
