SURF REPORT: Wind Left Us With Waves

All that wind left us with some waves!

Good Tuesday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your San Clemente Patch surf report.

Well, the howling winds we had yesterday left us with a pretty good amount of action. So, if you've got a little time to kill, go grab a session!

It's fairly clean from the start, with some spots seeing some texture on the surface.  We've got a combination of mostly lingering northwest wind and groundswell in the water.

That recipe is offering some fast, sectiony lines, with some good, wedgy shoulders to pick off. Most spots in San Clemente are seeing waist- to chest-high waves, with those focal points pulling shoulder high waves, with a few head high sets.

Taking a look at those tides, at 5:54 this morning it drained out to a 0.7 low which will have many breaks desperate for water early on. The tide then pushes back up to a 3.6 high at 10:52 later this morning and then drops once again to a 1.3 low at 4:26 this afternoon.

If you're going to get wet, throw on that thicker fullsuit and maybe the booties, with the water temperature taking a dip and averaging between 56 and 57 degrees.

See ya in the water!

FYI: The County Health Department urges surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean for at least 72 hours due to increased bacteria levels, especially near river mouths, storm drains and harbor entrances.
