Good Tuesday morning, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your San Clemente Patch surf report.
Well, it's showing some potential out there. We're seeing a small to decent dose of energy, but that mid-morning high tide already has things pretty slow.
The conditions are nicely groomed, with a mix of some fading west-northwest swell, northwest energy and a little leftover south-southwest swell. That recipe is offering some pretty soft broken-up lines, with a few fast shoulders.

Most spots in San Clemente are seeing knee- to waist-high waves, with those top breaks pulling some belly-high waves, with maybe a few plus sets.
At 8:30 a.m. the tide climbs way up to a 6.4 high, which will have some spots a little swamped or even shut down throughout the morning. The tide then drains out to a negative 1.1 low at 3:41 p.m.

If you're planning on paddling, throw on the 4/3 full and possibly the booties, with the water temp hanging between 56 and 58 degrees. See ya in the water.
FYI ... The county health department says increased bacteria levels in the ocean are very likely after a rain, especially near river mouths and storm drains. Surfers and swimmers are urged to stay out of the water for at least 72 hours.
